Amazon Web Services launches new cloud computing training

If you or your team are looking to learn or improve your cloud computing skills, Amazon Web Services on Tuesday launched new hands-on training courses as part of its new AWS Skill Builder Individual and Team subscription programs.

Amazon announced a range of free cloud training programs in November. New courses offered through subscription plans will build on the AWS Skill Builder program offered through these free programs, providing access to exclusive content and enabling you to learn AWS services with hands-on activities.

Individual subscription plans offer things like three exam prep courses, three AWS Certification Practice Exams, and over 100 AWS Builder Labs. Team subscription plans include content in individual plans as well as progress reports and over 140 challenges within AWS Jam events.

Sébastien Stormacq wrote in a blog post for Amazon that many AWS customers are not using cloud computing due to a lack of trained IT professionals.

“To close the skills gap, we want to give learners hands-on experience with cloud technologies,” he wrote.

Individual pricing starts at $29 per month and $299 per year. Team pricing starts at $449 per year for each team member, with teams consisting of more than 50 people. After 100 people on a team, prices drop to $299 per year per person up to 1,000 people. Prices drop again after 1,000 people to $149 per year per person.

Individual subscriptions are available in over 200 countries and territories, and team subscriptions are available in 17 countries.
