Maryland will host Lehigh on Tuesday; Improved security measures announced

COLLEGE PARK, MD – The Maryland Men’s Basketball Team will host Lehigh on Tuesday, December 28 at 8:30 p.m. at the XFINITY Center.

The game replaces the Terrapins’ previously scheduled game against Loyola (Md.) On the same date, which was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within the Loyola program.

In response to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in our area, Maryland Athletics is announcing several new measures to improve the fan experience for all guests for the December 28 game against Lehigh and the December 30 game against Brown:

  • Concessions: Due to health and safety protocols related to COVID-19, concessions will not be available to customers for home games on December 28 and 30. Courtside Club will also be unavailable for these two matches.

  • Reinforcement of the application of the mandate to wear the mask indoors: All customers who fail to comply with the requirement will receive a verbal warning. If that client continues to not comply with our policies, they will be required to leave the arena with no refund.

  • Flexible seat movements: For customers who wish to have a little more physical space between other fans, Maryland Athletics will allow flexible movement of seats to less populated sections (including the upper deck and student sections).

  • KN95 masks: Wearing KN95 masks has been shown to significantly reduce the risk of infection. Maryland Athletics encourages all fans to wear the KN95 to our upcoming games.

Maryland Athletics will continue to work with our university partners to monitor viral conditions within our community and state, and will expand or expand these measures as necessary.

All ticket holders who have purchased tickets for the Loyola game will be honored at the gate on Tuesday. For more information on tickets, please contact the Maryland Box Office: 301-314-7070.

Lehigh’s game will be televised on Big Ten Network and will be available on the Maryland Sports Radio Network.

The Terrapins (6-4) are expected to resume their activities after a two-week break for final exams and vacations. Maryland last appeared on the hardwood on December 12, when it beat the then number one. 20 Florida, 70-68, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY
