October Commercial Horticulture Program

The Alachua County Extension UF/IFAS office is pleased to announce the following Commercial Horticulture Program for October 2022. This program is offered by Dr. Tatiana Sanchez, Commercial Horticulture Officer.

Pest control by anaerobic soil disinfestation (ASD) in organic farming – October 13, 2-4 p.m. This is a Zoom webinar.

Anaerobic soil disinfestation is an environmentally friendly method of disinfecting soil and is a non-chemical alternative for disease and weed control. This webinar will explain how this soil disinfestation method has worked in the Southeast, its challenges and opportunities in organic farming, and how you can adopt it as a tool in your integrated pest management strategy. Speakers include professors from the University of Florida, Clemson University and private industry.

There is no need to install any additional software to participate in this event. Participants can join directly from their favorite browser or via the Teams app (optional).
