The Potomac Officers Club to feature USAF Darlene Costello as the keynote speaker at the 2021 Air Force Acquisition Forum on July 8

The US Air Force is implementing major digital transformation initiatives to streamline and optimize its procurement process. As the integration of digital engineering, agile software development and open system architectures that will provide better access to emerging technologies, will reduce acquisition times.

At the 2021 Potomac Officers Club Air Force Acquisition Forum, the most influential figures from the federal government and business sector will meet and discuss the critical technology and material needs of the U.S. Air Force.

Darlene Costello, US Air Force Acting Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, will deliver the Forum’s opening address. Costello will provide his perspective and priorities on the Air Force’s relationship with private industry and notable achievements in the acquisition process and the culture of the service branch.

As Acting Assistant Secretary, Costello provides expert advice and guidance on Air Force procurement and procurement programs. It is responsible for developing and executing policies and procedures in support of the Air Force acquisition system. As a result, it oversees a $ 40 billion Air Force portfolio of research and development, test, production and modernization programs.

Costello has held various senior acquisition positions and at all levels of command. She has held positions as a Project Engineer, Assistant Design Manager, and Program Manager in the US Navy.

She was also selected for the Commander’s Development Program with assignments in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Naval Warfare, the Office of the Assistant Under Secretary of the Navy for Ships Programs, the Office of the Director of War Expeditionary Branch, Amphibious Warfare Branch, and the Executive Office for Aircraft Carrier Program.

Costello also worked as a Personnel Specialist for Naval Warfare, Strategic and Tactical Systems, in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisitions, Technology and Logistics.
